A Global Thinkers Dialogue on China’s South-South Cooperation in Agriculture will be co-hosted by UNOSSC and UNDP, in partnership with China Institute for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture (CISSCA) on Friday, 14 September 10:00-11:30 in Conference Room 5 of UN Headquarters.
CISSCA, launched in December 2017, provides a platform for developing countries to strengthen South-South cooperation in agriculture and rural development for achieving the SDGs through policy research, mapping good practices and demand in agriculture and rural development.
The event will be attended by H.E. Mr. Adonia Ayebare, Ambassador of Uganda to the United Nations and President of the High-level Committee on South-South Cooperation; Mr. Jorge Chediek, Director and Envoy of the Secretary-General on South-South Cooperation; Prof. Qixin Sun, President, China Agricultural University; Mr. Shenggen Fan, Director General of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI); Mr. Xiaoyun Li, Dean, China Institute for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture; and senior officials from FAO, IFAD and WFP.
During the event, the China Agriculture University and CISSCA will launch a publication on “Filling the Knowledge Gap in South-South Cooperation: An Evaluation Framework and Its Application in China-Tanzania Cooperation”.
